A new study shows that the use of Viagra, a powerful drug used to treat erectile dysfunction, is as safe and effective as the current erectile dysfunction treatment, Viagra Connect.
The findings, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, show that the drug, known chemically as sildenafil citrate, is much more effective than the older, newer drugs, Viagra and Cialis.
The research, published in the journal, also shows that the drug is significantly more effective than the existing therapies, such as Viagra Connect.
“This is an interesting and exciting finding,” said Dr. Elizabeth Kavaler, a leading urologist at Boston’s Lenox Hill Hospital.
The researchers looked at more than 2,000 patients who received either a placebo or a drug that was taken only once every 24 hours, a study that included patients with erectile dysfunction. The researchers found that patients who took the placebo had a higher rate of achieving a harder erection than patients who took the drug, and the drug was even more effective at helping them achieve a harder erection.
“This finding is very encouraging,” said Dr. David Hirsch, director of urology at Massachusetts General Hospital. “We believe that the combination of these two drugs can improve the outcome of these treatment options.”
Viagra, which is also known as sildenafil, was one of the first drugs to be approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, which is a medical condition characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection during sexual activity.
Viagra was first approved in 1998 and the first prescription for erectile dysfunction was made in 2003.
The new study, led by urologist Dr. Elizabeth Kavaler, was published in the journalPharmacoepidemiology.
It compared patients who received the drug with patients who received a placebo. The researchers found that in the placebo group, a greater percentage of patients taking the drug had improved erections compared with those taking the placebo. Those who took the drug had an additional 10% of patients who received a placebo had an additional 5% of patients who received a placebo.
The drug was effective, but only in about 10% of patients who took the drug.
“This is an interesting finding,” said Dr. Michael L. Stelter, director of urology at the Cleveland Clinic and co-author of the study.
The researchers reported that patients who took the drug had a greater rate of achieving a harder erection than those taking the placebo, but the study had a smaller sample size. They also found that the drug was even more effective at helping patients achieve a harder erection.
In addition, the results were statistically significant, with patients in the placebo group experiencing greater satisfaction and satisfaction with the treatment.
